I love baseball. I was blessed to play professionally, and as I get older I am becoming more and more of a fan. Thanks for reading YOU'RE PROBABLY GETTING SCREWED! Subscribe for free to receive new posts and support my work. I live in Iowa and in order to watch games, I purchased MLB.tv for several years. Here’s the problem: in Iowa, we don’t have an MLB team. However, we’re blacked out of 6 different markets! So if the Twins, Brewers, Cubs, White Sox, Cardinals and Royals are all playing other teams, that's 40% of games I don’t have access to.
I live in Iowa City and a St Louis Cardinals fan. I am blocked from viewing 6 teams. For three years since youtubetv dropped Sinclair (now Bally’s), Bally’s was going to offer direct to me but they can’t get the rights to do it, They say go back to overpriced Directv but I put my zip code and would get the Cubs. Same with Mediacom just the Cubs. North Liberty(Southslope) gets the Cardinals, Cubs, Twins and White Sox. I would pay Bally’s during baseball but no luck. I read MLB might step in next year with a local package. I hope so.
I live in Charleston WV and we are blacked out on 3 teams: the Pirates, Reds, and Guardians. Now my local cable outlet shows the Pittsburgh regional network 24/7, they show the Reds games (with pre and post game shows) but they don't show the Cleveland games at all so I'm screwed when my Red Sox play the Guardians. I know of only 1 Guardians fan in the region (he's my uncle, LOL)
