A portion was blaming regular people for their real pollution (which is never carbon because greenhouse theory is utter nonsense), and another portion is running Small Oil and Medium Oil out of business (in the way the rest of the American oligopolies do it: creating massive regulatory burden and other barriers to entry/operation).
